Jonny Lake

Jonny Lake is a Canadian Chef [1] who is currently the Head Chef at The Fat Duck, a three Michelin starred restaurant in Bray, Berkshire.[2] Lake was born in Ontario and studied physics and biology at university in Montreal.

Once he had finished university, he spent over a year learning his trade at the Institut de Tourisme et d’Hotellerie du Quebec, which is the largest professional chef training programme in Montreal.

Lake did well at culinary school and once he had graduated he was granted a bursary. This allowed him to go to Italy for three months where in Savona, Liguria he worked at the one Michelin starred A-Spurcacciun-a. After a period of time he moved to work at the two Michelin starred restaurant owned by Gultiero Marchesi in Erbusco.[3]

He joined The Fat Duck in 2005 initially as chef de partie.
