Jonathan Lazar

Jonathan Lazar is a professor of Computer and Information Sciences at Towson University and a published author.[1][2] He is an award-winning researcher in Human-Computer-Interaction, web accessibility[3][4] and use of internet by blind people.[5][6]

Education

He earned his MS and PhD from University of Maryland Graduate School Baltimore (UMBC) [1] and his BBA from Loyola University Maryland.[7] He completed a Radcliffe Fellowship at Harvard University.[8]

Career

He started his career at Towson University in 1999 and founded the Universal Usability Laboratory.[9] He also worked as the Director of undergraduate program in information systems at Towson University.[8]

He is the co-author of Research Methods in Human-Computer Interaction,[10] Universal Usability: Designing Computer Interfaces for Diverse User Populations [11]and Ensuring Digital Accessibility through Process and Policy.[12]

Awards

  • In 2016, he won the SIGCHI Social Impact Award by SIGCHI[13]
  • In 2010, he was awarded with Dr. Jacob Bolotin Awards by National Federation for Blinds [14][15]
