Jonas Arnell

Jonas Henry Arnell (born February 28, 1969 in Örebro, Sweden) is a Swedish Senior Systems Manager as well as Amanuensis of the Orders at the Chancery of the Swedish Royal Orders of Knighthood and expert on phaleristics.

Biography

Arnell was raised in Eskilstuna and attended the natural science programme at the St. Eskil's Gymnasium. In 1994 he received a degree of Bachelor of Education at Linköping University. After that he was Ombudsman and last President of the Teacher training college Student Union of Linköping och Norrköping 1995-1996. Arnell has since received a degree of Bachelor of Social Science, Curriculum theory, at Stockholm University.

In 1999 Arnell launched a lobby campaign towards the MPs of the Parliament of Sweden to reinstate the Order of the Seraphim and the Order of the Polar Star for Swedish citizens as well as reinstating the dormant Order of the Sword and the dormant Order of Vasa. This contributed to his subsequent employment as Political Secretary at the Parliament Chancery of the Christian democrats the following year, from 2001 Political Advisor on Education and Culture. During this time he was secretary for the Christian Democrats' report "A Socialist University Sector" (2005), which after submission to the Constitutional Committee[1] and in the voting of the Parliament led to a reprimand of the Minister of Education,[2] being a less common outcome for the opposition side. He was also co-secretary of the final report "More Knowledge - A Modern Education Policy " of the Alliance's committee on education.

Between 2012 and 2014 Arnell was Research Officer for the Swedish Teachers' Union. From 2015 Arnell consultant in C3 Konsult AB, from 2016 as Consultant and Chief Security Officer. During 2017 also Chief Security Officer for St. Hunna AB. Since 2017 Senior Systems Manager/Systems Engineer (CF 3) of the Swedish Armed Forces.

Arnell served as Project Manager in the Nordic Maltese Aid Society in 2006 and was the webmaster 2007-2010. He was one of the founders of the Society Georgian Friends in Sweden (SGVS) in 2009 and was on the board for several years.[3] He was also in the editorial board of the Swedish Heraldry Association's publication 'Vapenbilden' 2008-2013.

Phaleristics

In 1998 Arnell created a website where he accounts for genuine and fake orders of chivalry, medals and fraternal organizations in Sweden, from 2012 complimented with a blog on orders & medals news. Moreover, active in internet forums and social media concerning phaleristics.[4] Apart from the web, Arnell has written a number of articles on orders and medals,[5] has lectured[6] and commented orders and medals in media.[7][8][9]

Arnell was the Swedish Heraldry Association's Persuivant for decorations 2002-2008. He has served as webmaster for the Order of Vitéz 2006-2008 and the Swedish Lieutenancy of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre 2006-2010[10]. Arnell has also been Vitézi Hadnagy (President, litt. Knights' Lieutenant) for the Order of Vitéz in Sweden 2006-2013[11] and Acting Judge for the Royal Brotherhood of the Order of St Michael of the Wing in Sweden 2012-2013. Arnell has received several orders from former ruling dynasties for his work to support and promote genuine Imperial and Royal Houses and their orders of chivalry. Further, he is a Commander of the Swedish Grand Order of the Amaranth. Since January 1, 2018 he is Amanuensis of the Orders at the Chancery of the Swedish Royal Orders of Knighthood, with special responsibility for web.
