John Peyton (died 1635)

John Peyton (1579–1635), of Wells, Norfolk, was an English politician.

He was a Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for Castle Rising in 1601. He wrote an extant account of his travels as a young man.[1] A Relation of the State of Polonia is a manuscript work produced c.1600 on Polish affairs. In 2014 Sobecki claimed a definitive attribution of authorship to Peyton, and a date of 1603, the work being written for the coronation of James VI and I.[2]
