John George Smyth JP DL MP (5 February 1815 – 10 June 1869)[1] was a Conservative member of Parliament for the City of York from August 28, 1847 to July 11, 1865.[2]
Personal life
Smyth married the Honourable Diana Bosville-Macdonald (12 April 1812 – 8 December 1880) on 25 April 1837.[1] He was the squire of Heath Hall, as was his father, John Henry Smyth.[1] John George Smyth's mother, Lady Elizabeth Anne FitzRoy, was the third daughter of George Henry FitzRoy, 4th Duke of Grafton.[1]
