John Corbett (March 23, 1925 – September 2, 2013) was an American chemist who specialized inorganic solid-state chemistry.

Career

Corbett received his Ph.D. in 1952 from the University of Washington. He joined the faculty of Iowa State University in 1953 where he spent his entire career. He was elected as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He won the ACS Awards in both Inorganic Chemistry and in Distinguished Service in the Advancement of Inorganic Chemistry. [1] He was elected to the United States National Academy of Sciences in 1992.[2]
