Joel Holden Filártiga

Joel Holden Filártiga Ferreira (born 1932 in Yvytimi) is a Paraguayan doctor and human rights activist.

After his son Joelito was murdered by dictator Alfredo Stroessner's secret police in 1976, he was a participant in Filártiga v. Peña-Irala. He runs a clinic in Ybycuí and is also an artist.[1] He was played by Anthony Hopkins in the 1991 television film One Man's War.[2]
