Joanne Black (born 25 October 1974 in County Cavan, Ireland) is a stylist based in Los Angeles. A former model, she took part in beauty pageants, becoming Miss Limerick Photogenic, then Miss Ireland in 1995, at the age of 20. She represented Ireland at the Miss World event in Cape Town in November 1995.[1] She also attended the Miss Europe event in Tirana, Albania, and the Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas[2] in 1996.

Career

Black began her career as a model with the Celia Holman Lee Agency in 1990. She was crowned Miss Limerick Photogenic, then Miss Ireland in 1995. Black was then described as ‘Ireland’s most eligible young woman.'[3] With 15 years experience in fashion under her belt Black decided to start developing her skills as a stylist. Photographer Tony Mcgee describes Black as Ireland's most stylish woman because "It's not about what she's wearing, or being noticed, it's about her personality. Style is sharing."[4]

As a stylist, she has worked with Petra Nemcova, Erin O'Connor, Zara Phillips, Goldie Hawn, Sarah Bolger, Elena Satine, Laura Michelle Kelly, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Max Irons, Bill Nighy, Ronan Keating and Rory J. Saper.

Black's work has appeared in numerous fashion magazines worldwide and her styling is regularly featured on best dressed lists.
