Jiyen Krishnakumar (born 1 May 1978) is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in Malayalam cinema. Jiyen made his directorial and writer debut in 2010 with College Days.[1]
Personal life
Jiyen was born in Poojappura in Kerala, India to K. Gopi Nathan Nair and T. Nalinakumari. He has a brother named Padmakumar. Jiyen completed his school education from St. Xavier's High School, Thiruvananthapuram and later took degree from Christian College, Kattakada, Thiruvananthapuram. He married Priyanka Krishnan in 2011 and has a child named Dhanwathkrishnan.
Career
Jiyen started his film career as an assistant director to T. S. Suresh Babu. Later, he independently directed a total of 10 Malayalam television serials in Asianet and Surya. His debut feature film directorial was in 2010 with College Days, which he also wrote.[2] His second film was Kaanchi (2013), starring Indrajith Sukumaran.[3] In 2017, he directed Tiyaan, scripted by Murali Gopy.[4]
