Jessica Pressler is an American journalist and contributing editor at New York magazine, where she became as the co-editor of the Daily Intel blog in 2007[1] after working as a staff writer at Philadelphia magazine and as a freelancer for celebrity magazines.[2]

At New York, she has written extensively on “the culture of wealth and money,”[3] interviewing Wall Street CEOs such as Goldman Sachs Lloyd Blankfein and AIG CEO Robert Benmosche about their firms involvement in the 2008 financial crisis in addition to profiling colorful New York personalities like Lynn Tilton and Anthony Scaramucci. Her features about the feud between Chris Burch and Tory Burch and the culture of Silicon Valley Laundry startups have appeared in Best American Business Writing’s 2013 and 2015 editions, respectively.[4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14]

More recently Pressler has become known for her work covering "lady grifters."[15]

Her 2015 New York story "The Hustlers at Scores,”[16] described by the Hollywood Reporter as a "Modern Robin Hood story..centered on strippers,"[17] was nominated for a 2016 National Magazine Award[18] and is being adapted into a full-length feature film by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gloria Sanchez productions.[19][20]

Her 2018 story "Maybe She Had So Much Money She Just Lost Track of It,"[21] labeled an "instant classic" by The New Yorker is being developed into a series by Netflix and Shonda Rhimes.[22][23][24]

Pressler has also written for GQ, Elle, Esquire and Smithsonian.[2] She was a regular Gossip Girl episode recap writer for Vulture website, and has even made an appearance as a New York magazine editor in one of its episodes.[25]
