Jerónimo Arturo Amione Cevallos (born March 31, 1990 in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Lebanese-Mexican football player who currently plays as a forward for Alebrijes de Oaxaca of the Ascenso MX, the second division of Mexican football.

Personal life

Jerónimo Amione Cevallos is of Lebanese[1][2] descent on his father's side (from Lebanese town of Amioun) and is of Mexican descent on his mother's side. He was born in Mexico City, Mexico.

Club career

Today he is one of the young promises of Atlante and has played some minutes with the first team. He made his senior team debut on April 23, 2010 as a substitute in a match against Estudiantes Tecos, he scored a goal in the 9 minutes he played in a 3 - 2 loss of Atlante.[3] He was runner up in the 2013 Copa MX, where they lost to Cruz Azul. Later that year, he joined Cruz Azul.

International career

Mexico

He made appearance for Mexican Olympic team, in which Mexico captured its gold medal in 2011 Pan American Games. He was also appeared in the 2012 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament, however he was not included in the final 18 squad to participate in the 2012 Olympic football tournament. Mexico later won its first ever gold medal in their history.

Lebanon

Due to not being selected into the main squad of Mexico later, and the rise of another Lebanese–Mexican player, Miguel Layún, there was rumors that he had opted to join the Lebanese football team. It had set clear when he had accepted the offer,[6] and was selected to the squad for the 2019 Asian Cup qualification against Malaysia though he didn't make any appearance aftermath.[7] As Lebanon had qualified to the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, if he were selected to the final 23, he would become the first Mexican player to play in the Asian Cup.
