The Jeolgang Pyeon clan (Hangul: 절강 편씨; Hanja: 浙江 片氏) is one of the Korean clans. Their Bon-gwan is in Zhejiang, China. According to research conducted in 2000, the number of Jeolgang Pyeon clan’s members was 10,678. Their founder was Pyeon Gal song who was a military commissioner in the Ming dynasty. He sent troops to Joseon as the Area Commander (hanja: 都督) during Japanese invasions of Korea (1592–98), but he was not able to come back to his country due to a betrayal. As a result, he was naturalized in Joseon. After his three sons heard the news, they went to Joseon, and were settled in Naju, Jeolla Province. They founded the Jeolgang Pyeon clan and made Zhejiang, Jeolgang Pyeon the clan’s Bon-gwan. Zhejiang was Pyeon Gal song’s hometown.[1][2]
