Jean-Michel Faure is a traditionalist Catholic bishop who is excommunicated from the Catholic Church.[1]

Early life

In 1941, he was born to French pieds-noirs parents in Algiers.

Religious career

In October 1972 he joined the SSPX Seminary at Ecône (Switzerland) and was ordained a priest by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in 1977.[2]

Soon after he was appointed at the head of the SSPX district for Southern America.

In 1980 he was made the director of the SSPX Seminary in La Reja (Argentina).

He was appointed at the head of the Mexican district in 1985.

In 2013 he left the SSPX over the dispute of a possible agreement with Rome and joined the SSPX Resistance.

He was consecrated a bishop on March 19, 2015 by Bishop Richard Williamson.[3]

On March 19, 2016 he was co-consecrator of Bishop Miguel Ferreira da Costa, aka Fr Thomas Aquinas.
