Jean-Marc Adjovi-Bocco (born 22 December 1963) is a Beninese former football player. Bocco captained the Benin national football team, until he retired from international football in the summer of 1997.[1] He is famous in Scotland for his time with Hibernian, where fans knew him as Jimmy Boco. He graduated from Skema Business School in 1999.

Jimmy Adjovi-Boco is currently General Manager of Diambars, an association he cofounded with other friends and professional footbal players, Bernard Lama, and Patrick Vieira. « Diambars » is a worldwide project that aims to turn children's passion for football into an educational driving force.

Since August 2017, Jean-Marc Adjovi-Boco is also a member of the Presidential Council for Africa.

Biography

Jean-Marc Adjovi-Boco grew up in France where he studied aeronautics at Air France. From 1985 to 1998, he pursued a career as a professional soccer player at Amiens, Rouen, Tours, Lens, and finally Edimburg. He was also the captain of the national Beninese soccer team. In 1995, he obtained a Football Educator State Certification. After ending his career as a professional football player he made a successful professional retraining.

In 2001, he graduated from the Lille Business School

After having founded in 2000 the « Diambars » association, in Senegal, with Bernard Lama and Patrick Vieira, he launched in 2013 the brand "Envie d'y voir" which aims to develop a network of optical shops at moderate prices in Ivory Coast, with the objective of 200 franchise stores within 10 years, across the African continent.

In 2014, Jean-Marc Adjovi-Boco developed his concept of "Center Auto Repair" solidarity garages, initially in France, notably in Compiègne (Oise). It is now aiming to open in Africa in 2018. These new generation garages target mechanics in the informal sector to provide them with a collaborative work space and professional training.

In August 2017, he became member of the Presidential Council for Africa, an organization created by the french president Emmanuel Macron to renewal of the partnership between France and the countries of the African continent.[2]
