Jaylen Samuels (born July 20, 1996) is an American football fullback for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at NC State.
College career
Throughout his college career, Samuels has changed positions, sometimes being listed as a running back, fullback or tight end.[1][2] After his sophomore season, Samuels was able to participate in the 2016 Independence Bowl, where he caught 3 touchdown passes, the most in Independence Bowl history. Due to his contribution, he was named the MVP of the Independence Bowl.[3] During his senior season, Samuels set the NC State record for career receptions with 202 during his 4 years.[4] After this season, Samuels was invited to the 2018 Senior Bowl.[5]
Professional career
Samuels was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round (165th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.[6]
