Jayanti Behera is a Track & Field Paralympic Athlete who Represents India in the Women's 200m,400m & 800m event. She is World youth champion in the TR 400m Event and she has also won the Gold medal at the recent National Para Athletics Championships 2018 in Panchkula 2018. She is supported by the GoSports Foundation through the Para Champions Programme.

Career

Competing in her first international competition at the 2017 China Open Para Athletics Championship in May, Jayanti won the gold medal in 400m and registered the qualifying mark for the 2017 IPC World Para Athletics Championships. She also won silver in 200m at the same competition. In August 2017, Jayanti represented India at the 2017 IPC World Para Athletics Championships in London, where she was the youngest Indian competitor at 17 and followed that up with a gold medal in 400m and silver in 200m at the 2017 World Junior Para Athletic Championships in Switzerland.
