Jay Ali is a British-Indian actor based in Los Angeles. He is known for the role of Timothy on Freeform's The Fosters and Ray Nadeem in Daredevil.

Biography

Jay Ali grew up playing Cricket, but had always expressed an interest in acting. Despite his parents disapproval, he traveled to America to pursue acting despite having no prior experience.[1] He found getting work surprisingly difficult saying, "I met plenty of people who told me I was wasting my time and should go back to England...They assured me that no manager or agent would touch me and I would never get an audition. I met my managers a month after arriving."[2] He had signed with Sweeney Entertainment despite telling its founders that he did not have a work visa or the ability to do an American accent. He then auditioned for The Fosters in 2012 and won the role of Timothy. He auditioned with an American accent, but when the casting directors heard his natural British accent, he was cast immediately.[1] In March 2018, Ali was cast as Rahul "Ray" Nadeem in the third season of Daredevil.[3]
