Janan Jasim Halawi

Janan Jasim Halawi (born 1956) is an Iraqs writer. He studied electrical engineering in Iraq and worked as a journalist for the Lebanese newspaper Al-Nahar. He migrated to Sweden in 1992. He has written more than a dozen books, including short stories, poetry and novels. His 2015 novel People of the Palms was nominated for the Arabic Booker Prize.[1]
