Jan Caspar Philips

Jan Caspar Philips (1690 – 1775), was an engraver from the northern Netherlands.

Biography

He was born in Germany but settled in Amsterdam, where he became the teacher of his nephew Caspar Philips and (in 1725) the engraver Simon Fokke.[1] He contributed engravings to Jan Wagenaar's Hedendaagse Historie and made the engravings in 1743 for Kornelis de Wit's Verzaameling van Afbeeldingen van Doopsgezinde Leeraaren.[1] He died in Amsterdam.
