Jamie Chadwick

Jamie Laura Chadwick (born May 20, 1998 in Bath, England) is a British motor racing driver, best known for becoming the first ever female and youngest winner of the British GT Championship in 2015, where she drove an Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 car alongside her teammate Ross Gunn for Beechdean Motorsport (formerly Beechdean Mansell Motorsport).

On August 5, 2018, Chadwick became the first female driver in history to win a BRDC British Formula 3 Championship race at Brands Hatch.

She also competed in the Ginetta Junior Championship for two seasons. She finished 10th overall in the championship standings in 2013 & 8th overall in 2014.

Education

Chadwick was educated at Cheltenham College,[1] a co-educational boarding and day independent school in the spa town of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire.

Life and career

Jamie Chadwick started her motorsports career in kart racing at the age of 11, following her brother Oliver (aka “Ollie”) into the sport. She broke into car racing in 2013 when she turned down a trial with the England under-18 hockey team to compete at the Ginetta Junior scholarship weekend, where she triumphed to win a scholarship for the 2013 Ginetta Junior Championship season. She remained in the series for 2014, taking five podium finishes during the year to finish eighth overall in the championship.

In 2015, Chadwick won the British GT Championship in the GT4 class with Beechdean Motorsport, partnering with Ross Gunn in their Aston Martin V8 Vantage. The pair took two wins during the season, including the Silverstone Dunlop Britcar 24 Hour race, making Jamie Chadwick the youngest winner of a 24-hour race.

Going into 2016, Jamie stayed in British GT Championship GT4 class but this time teaming up with Generation AMR Super Racing in the #44 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4, finishing 13th overall in the drivers championship.

Jamie also competed in The VLN, properly the Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstreckenpokal Nürburgring in 2016 and finished 38th overall and 3rd in SP8 class racing the Aston Martin Test Centre GT8.

She moved into single seaters for 2017. Competing in BRDC British Formula 3 Championship with Double R Racing ending the year 9th in the championship and getting her first podium at Rockingham Motor Speedway finishing 3rd.

In 2018 Jamie Chadwick entered another 24 hour race, this time being the 2018 24 Hours of Nürburgring, Driving the Aston Martin Vantage V8 GT4 in the SP8 class, Along side her teammates of Jonathan Adam, Alex Lynn and Pete Cate finishing 5th in her class and 63rd overall.

For the 2018 season she moved to Douglas Motorsport in the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship. On August 5th 2018 Jamie Chadwick became the first woman in history to win a BRDC British Formula 3 Championship race in round two of the 3 round event and/or round 17 at Brands Hatch adding to a 3rd place podium finish at Oulton Park in Race 2 of the opening round of the 2018 season.
