James Coleman is a Democratic member of the Colorado House of Representatives. He represents the 7th district, which covers a portion of Denver. He was elected in 2016, succeeding Angela Williams.

Coleman lives in the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood of Denver. He is Vice President of Community Engagement at the nonprofit ACE Scholarships and Vice President of the Board of Directors of the public charter school Highline Academy.[1]

Coleman serves on the House Business Affairs & Labor Committee and the House Local Government Committee.[2]

Elections

Coleman was elected to the House of Representatives in 2016; he won the Democratic primary with 41.37% of the vote against opponents Michele Wheeler and Elet Valentine and ran unopposed in the general election.[3]
