Career history

James Michael Castleman was an American Football Defensive End for the FXFL Blacktips of the Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL). He played college football at Oklahoma State.[1]

Personal life

James Castleman is considered the "blind side" story of the small Texas town, Amarillo.[2] The reference stemming from the Hollywood blockbuster starring Tim McGraw and Sandra Bullock The Blind Side[3] detailing the story of Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All American football player and first round NFL draft pick with the help of a caring woman and her family. Although not homeless nor successful in the NFL, Castleman did draw financial and emotional support from a local wealthy family, "The Davids."[2]

College career

Despite playing as a defensive tackle, he became known for his 48-yard reception in the 2015 Cactus Bowl.[4]

Professional career

NFL 2015

Castleman was given tryouts with the National Football League Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs [5] in 2015 and was signed by neither team.
