History

JAMA'ATHE ISLAMI was founded on 26 August 1941 under the Islamic scholar Syed Abul A'la Maudoudi. KM Moulavi was the editor and publisher. This led to influence the various scholars of Kerala. One among was VP Mohammadali of Edayoor near Valanchery in Malappuram district. He was Known as Haji Sahib among Scholars. He met Maududi sb at Darul Islam in Pathankot when he was a student at Jamia Darasalaam in Umarabad. Moulana Maududi appointed VP MohammadAli to organize his work in Kerala. Instead of establishing a component of Jamaat-e-Islami, he created an organization called Jama'atul Musthdadein in Valanchery in 1946 and systematically maintained its activities. On 30 January 1948, local unit of the organization was formed at Kozhikode. Later, the second unit was formed at Valanchery, Malappuram.[3]
