Jaggesh is an Indian actor, director, producer and politician who predominantly works in Kannada film industry and is very famous by his screen name as "Navarasa Nayaka (Master of 9 emotions)" . Jaggesh's net worth was 124 crore (US$17 million) according to the Forbes list in the year of 2018.

He made his debut in 1983 movie Ibbani Karagithu in a small role prior to appearing as a hero in Banda Nanna Ganda. He holds high success rate to his credit starting from his old movies like Banda Nanna Ganda, Tharle Nan Maga, Super Nan Maga, Server Somanna, Bevu Bella to recent movies like Mata, Eddelu Manjunatha, Vaastu Prakaara and Neer Dose.

Career

Cinema

Jaggesh made his cinema debut as an Assistant Director to K. V. Raju & Rajkishore in 1982. He made his film debut as lead in N. Srinivas produced film Banda Nanna Ganda after which the shelved movie Tharle Nan Maga resumed production and was released. He has acted in more than 120 films. In 2012 he entered television by hosting a reality game show Kaiyalli Koti Helbittu Hoderi in Udaya TV. He made his direction debut in Guru (2012) starring his elder son Gururaj and Rashmi Gautam. He then directed Melkote Manja in 2017. In 2006 he was honoured with Karnataka State Film Awards in Best Supporting Actor category for his acting in Mata (his 100th film) which he refused. In 2016 he came back with Neer Dose directed by Vijaya Prasad which became blockbuster hit. He judged hilarious television comedy show Comedy Khiladigalu season 2 (Zee Kannada) in 2016 which became huge popular television show. Currently he is doing an Guest role in Mugulu Nage starring Ganesh.

Politics

Jaggesh is originally from mayasandra (Jadeya Mayasandra) of Turuvekere Taluk in Tumkur district. His political affiliation was with the Indian National Congress/Congress party. He ran in the Turuvekere constituency, and won with a healthy margin but resigned from the Legislative Assembly to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.[1] He served as Member of Legislative Council[2] and was held the cabinet rank as the vice-chairman of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (K.S.R.T.C.).[3] Currently he is the special invitee Executive Committee Member of Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party.

Personal life

Jaggesh was born as S Eswar Gowda on 17 March 1963 to Shivalingappa and Nanjamma in Srirampura, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. His origin is Mayasandra village, Turuvekere taluk, Tumkur, Karnataka, India. He has two elder sisters Vijayalakshmi, Mahadevi and two younger brothers Komal, Ramchandra. Jaggesh is married to Parimala Jaggesh and has two sons Gururaj and Yathiraj.
