Jacques Despierre

Jacques Despierre (May 6, 1928 in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) in France) is a French Catholic bishop, and bishop emeritus of Carcassonne since 2004.[1]

Life

He was ordained a priest in Toulouse for the Prado Institute on June 24, 1952.[2] He was appointed Bishop of Carcassonne on August 25, 1982, and was consecrated on October 10 of the same year by Bishop André Collini. On June 28, 2004, he retired for reasons of age. Bishop Alain Planet succeeds him as bishop of Carcassonne.
