Jacqueline Lacasa

Jacqueline Lacasa (Montevideo, 16 July 1970) is an Uruguayan visual artist. She is cultural agent, educational and researcher of contemporary art.

Biography

Jacqueline Helena Lacasa Igune began her studies in psychology in the Faculty of Psychology (University of the Republic). She was member and educator for the Foundation of Contemporary Art in Montevideo, Uruguay between the years 2000 and 2010.

In the year 2007 she was appointed director of the National Museum of Visual arts until 2009, being the first woman to hold that position.

Member of the International Association of Art Critics. Postgraduate in Cultural Management and Heritage in Foundation Ortega and Gasset in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

She has made various curatorial projects and collaborated in publications of contemporary art.[1]

In 2015 she presented her book Influence - contemporary Art in the Uruguay of the 21st century.[2]

  • Award from the Foundation Fontanal Cisneros for her project Triptych of Alejandría in 2006.[4]
