Jack Welch is an American football coach.
Coaching career
Kansas Wesleyan
Welch was the 17th head football coach at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas and he held that position for two seasons, from 1985 until 1986. His coaching record at Kansas Wesleyan was 8–12.[1]
The results Welch produced at Kansas Wesleyan were considered a "turnaround" because the year before his arrival, the team had winless season.[2] At the time, the program had the nations's longest losing streak in NAIA football.[3]
Other coaching positions
Welch's coaching career also includes stops at West Texas State University, Fort Scott Community College, and Louisiana Tech University.[4]
Welch has recently retired[5] from his positions as both the athletic director and head football coach for Copperas Cove High School in Copperas Cove, Texas. Welch has 193 wins, 1 tie, and 84 losses since his 1994 debut at Copperas Cove. Welch's accomplishments also include 18 years in the playoffs, and two appearances in the Texas 4A State Championship. Welch has the most wins of any head coach in Copperas Cove history with victories over many of Texas' most notorious 4A and 5A power houses to including Odessa Permian and National Champion Southlake Carroll. Welch was Class 6A "Coach of the Year" in 1998 and has been the District "Coach of the Year" eight times. He has had over 300 players sign college scholarships and thirteen NFL players in Copperas Cove, including Heisman Trophy Robert Griffin III and NFL "All-Pro" and "NFL Man of the Year" Charles "Peanut" Tillman.

Welch earned a bachelor's degree from Taylor University in Indiana and master's from West Texas State University,[6] and Doctorate from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor
