Jack Michael McMullen (born 22 February 1991) is an English actor. He is best known for his role as Finn Sharkey in Waterloo Road, as well as other appearances in Brookside and Grange Hill.

Career

McMullen debuted as Josh McLoughlin on the long-running Channel 4 drama Brookside playing the role from 2002 until the show's final episode, after being axed by Channel 4, in November 2003.

He won two British Soap Awards for his role in the show; the first for best newcomer, beating EastEnders star Shane Richie to the accolade, and the best on-screen partnership with co-star Sarah White, who played his on-screen mother, Bev McLoughlin. McMullen went on to appear as Timothy "Tigger" Johnson in Grange Hill from 2004; initially in a guest role, and later a regular cast slot until 2008. Tigger was the younger brother of Togger and nephew of original Grange Hill pupil Peter "Tucker" Jenkins. Both Brookside and Grange Hill were produced by Phil Redmond.

He was in an episode of the BBC drama The Street, then appeared in The Bill.[1] He played Andy Donnelly in the two-parter. Next, he starred in BBC Switch's Proper Messy.[2] He was in an episode of the BBC soap Doctors as half of a young gay couple, who run away from their homes. He then starred in another BBC drama, appearing in an episode of Moving On. The episode was called "Dress to Impress" and was directed by Gordon Hill. McMullen starred alongside Ian Hart and Dervla Kirwan, playing the part of Daniel, who is a cross-dresser. Hollyoaks star Guy Burnet was also in the episode as a young man who is also a cross-dresser.

From 2010 to 2012 he played Finn Sharkey in Waterloo Road.[3]

On 4 June 2011, he appeared in the BBC One medical drama Casualty as Ethan, the friend of a patient.

On 27 December 2011 McMullen appeared in Fast Freddie, The Widow and Me as the main role Freddie Copeland. Filming began in June for the special Christmas episode.

In 2013, the film The Knife That Killed Me was released. Jack played the lead role of 16-year-old Paul Varderman. Waterloo Road co-stars, Reece Douglas (Denzil Kelly) and Oliver Lee (Aiden Scotcher) also starred in the film.

Jack has appeared on stage in well received productions of Carthage (2014) at the Finborough Theatre and Kill Me Now (2015) at the Park Theatre.

In May 2017, Jack appeared in the ITV drama series Little Boy Blue portraying Dean Kelly, one of the gang members involved in the murder of Rhys Jones in 2007.
