JAS Motorsport is an Italian motor racing team. It was founded in 1995 by Paolo Jasson, Maurizio Ambrogetti, Giorgio Schon. The team competed in the 1996 International Touring Car Championship and the 1997 Super Tourenwagen Cup with Alfa Romeo. They have been an official partner of Honda since 1998 and have run the Japanese car manufacturer's programme in the Super Tourenwagen Cup (1998-1999), European Touring Car Championship (2000-2001, 2004) and World Touring Car Championship as Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team and Honda Racing Team JAS (2005-2006 and 2012–present).
Honda Civic TCR and Type-R TCR (2015–present)
In 2014 Jas Motorsport announced that they will build Honda Civic touring car based on the TCR International Series regulations and aimed at customers.[1] In the inaugural season the JAS Honda Civic TCR's were used by WestCoast Racing with other customers used it in various regional and national TCR series.
The car was subsequently updated for the following seasons and for 2017 the car was rebadged as Civic Type-R TCR. In 2017 JAS Motorsport announce that it will produce new car based on the tenth generation Civic which will be availlable to customers in 2018.[2]
