J. Bradley Creed is Campbell University's fifth president. He began his career on July 1, 2015, succeeding Jerry M. Wallace who was the fourth president.

Biography

Creed graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1975 and earned a bachelor of arts in religion at Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 1979. He went on to complete a Master's in divinity and a Ph.D. at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth,[1] where he was a teaching fellow in church history and pastor of Wheatland Baptist Church. He joined the faculty of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana[1] and accepted the pulpit of the First Baptist Church there in 1988. In 1993 he returned to Baylor as professor of Christian history and was made Dean of the George W. Truett Theological Seminary in 1996. He came to Samford University as a professor of religion and associate provost in 2001. He was promoted to provost in 2002 and added the responsibilities of executive vice president in 2006.[2]

Changeover to Campbell University

Creed left Samford in 2015 to become the fifth president in the 128-year history of Campbell University.[3] Creed and his wife, Kathy, have three children: Caitlin, Charles and Carrie Grace.[1] He is an avid runner with numerous marathons and half-marathons to his credit.
