Ivan Vilibor Sinčić, or simply Ivan Sinčić (born 28 August 1990) is a Croatian politician and anti-eviction activist who has been a Member of the Croatian Parliament since 2015 and was a candidate in the first round of the 2014 Croatian presidential election, coming in third with 16.42% of the vote, behind the incumbent Ivo Josipović and the ultimate winner of the election Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. He is the chairman of Human Blockade.

Early life

Sinčić was born in Karlovac. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Zagreb.[1]

Personal life

Since 2016 he has been married to fellow Human Bloackade activist and former party co-chairwoman Vladimira Palfi. They have a son named Ksaver.

Political career

Along with now-fellow MP Ivan Pernar, Sinčić was one of the founders of Human Blockade in 2011. In 2014 Sinčić ran as the party's candidate for President of Croatia, finishing third with 16.42% of the vote and thus failing to progress to the run-off won by Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.[2] He is currently the leader of the Croatian political party Human Blockade. He was first elected a Member of the Croatian Parliament in the 2015 parliamentary election, from the 7th electoral district, and took office on 28 December 2015.[3] He was reelected to Parliament in the 2016 parliamentary election.
