Islamic Exorcist is a 2017 supernatural horror thriller film directed by Faisal Saif and starring Kavita Radheshyam with Bangladesh actor Nirab Hossain. Earlier the film was set to be released on May 12, 2017, by Cinema Epoch, but it was finally released on July 11, 2017 on Direct to video and Video on demand to positive reviews.[1]

Critic Mike Sprague from Dread Central heavily praised the film and quoted "Give it a go and show your support to writer-director Faisal Saif, who may soon be a name to watch out for. Mark my words."[2]

Plot

The lives of an Indian couple are devastated when their adopted daughter becomes possessed by a demonic force. The father shoots the daughter to death, however, an investigative journalist doesn't believe in their story and becomes determined to know the real truth by going much deeper in the couple's scary past.

After the official trailer was made Public, Joshua Millican from website Horror Freak News appreciated the film's Trailer and said "Timely Possession Horror Islamic Exorcist will Shock Western Audiences"[3] Another website HorrorFuel stated "Islamic Exorcist Puts A New Spin On A Classic Genre"[4]

Critical Reception

The film received mostly positive reviews from critics. While conceding the expertise of the film and its participants, some critics pointed out the English sync part of the movie but praised the movie overall.

Blood Guts gave 4.5 out of 5 stars and said: "If you are a fan of films such as Under the Shadow, you will love Islamic Exorcist more!".[5] That Moment In gave 4 out of 5 stars and pointed the film's lead actress Kavita Radheshyam's performance by quoting "Surely, it has some terrific performances by the lead actress Kavita Radheshyam who literally carries the whole movie on her head with her acting skills".[6] Movie Guy 24/7 gave 3.5 out of 4 stars by pointing out the movie's old school Japanese Cinema feel and quoted "If you are into Japanese horrors or Takashi Miike horrors, Islamic Exorcist is just for you".[7]

Bloody Flicks called the movie "Genuinely Creepy" and pointed out its English sync part as its drawback.[8] Another Horror website More Horror called the film "A terrifying Indian Horror movie".[9] Reviewer Dani McKinney for Pop Horror applauded the director for not relying on CGI Effects and staying on practical effects in the movie.[10]
