Isha Vidhya is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev.It aims to raise the level of education and literacy in rural India.[1][2]

History

Isha Vidhya was formed in 2006, and its first Matriculation school was established on June 19, 2006 at Santhegounden Palayam, Coimbatore district.[2] Subsequently, three more schools have been established in Tuticorin, Erode and Nagercoil in 2007.[3] Several more schools have also been established through the years.

In 2015, the foundation extended its Government School Adoption Program to fifty schools instead of forty to reach more students.[4]

In 2017, Isha Vidhya signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Education in Andhra Pradesh to enhance the quality of education by extending its programme to 3000 government schools in Chittoor.[5]
