Iris Hoffmann (born 1 September 1958) is a German politician, currently serving as Member of the European Parliament (MEP) representing Germany since July 2014. She is a member of the Social Democratic Party, part of the Party of European Socialists.[1]

Hoffmann served as a Member of the Bundestag from 1998 until 2009.

Education and career before politics

Hoffmann graduated from the Gotha Finance College in 1990. Prior to entering national politics she worked as a financial administrator, public servant, and local government auditor.

In 1998 Hoffmann was elected as a member of the Bundestag, serving until 2009.
