Insurrextion (2003)

Insurrextion (2002) was the third Insurrextion professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). It took place on May 4, 2002 at the Wembley Arena in London, England, and was the WWF's first pay-per-view event promoted under the Raw brand, with Rebellion that October become the SmackDown brand event.

The event was also the last televised event to run under the WWF name; due to a lawsuit by the World Wildlife Fund, the Federation changed its name to World Wrestling Entertainment over the next two days and started to use the WWE name on the May 6 episode of Raw.

Storylines

The event featured nine professional wrestling matches and two pre-show matches that involved different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines. Wrestlers portrayed villains, heroes, or less distinguishable characters in the scripted events that built tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.[2]
