Ingrid Kristina Carlqvist (born November 9, 1960) is a Swedish writer, editor, and journalist. Together with Lars Hedegaard, she ran the now discontinued newspaper Dispatch International.[1] According to Carlqvist, the newspaper was critical of Islam, and its purpose was to report on what was not reported in the mainstream media. She writes extensively about immigration and assimilation problems in Sweden.[2] She wrote for the Gatestone Institute until 2016.[3] In February 2017, she was engaged in the capacity of expert by Fox News.[4] She endorsed Anne Marie Waters for the UK Independence Party leadership election, 2017, who would come in second place with 21.3%.[5]

Background

Carlqvist was born in 1960 in Vantörs Township, and grew up in Helsingborg. She studied at the School of Journalism in Gothenburg. In 1992, she married a Moroccan man; they were married for four years. She worked as a journalist at the Kvällsposten/IDag and Punkt, se[6] and is known for her conservative views and criticism of Islam.[3] In 2009, Carlqvist was fired by the magazine Villaliv. In 2011, she was fired by the newspaper Barometern for an article defending the Sweden Democrats.[7] In July 2012, she started the anti-Islam newspaper Dispatch International, with Lars Hedegaard which was distributed by the Sweden Democrats as part of their election campaign.[8][2]

Personal life

She is a member of the Asatru Folk Assembly.[9][10]
