Indian Academy Group of Institutions

Indian Academy Group of Institutions[1] is established by Indian Academy Education Trust located on Hennur Main Road of Bangalore in the state of Karnataka. Comprising the group of educational institutions is an autonomous degree college, a school of management studies, a pre-university college, a nursing school and an evening college.[2] The Trust is founded and chaired by Dr Thummala Somasekhar, an eminent professor and scientist who held academic and research positions at Bangalore University, India, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA, University of Illinois, Chicago, USA and Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA, before returning to Bangalore with the vision of building world class educational and research facilities in India. Coming into existence in 1994, with official recognition by Government of Karnataka and Government of India, due approvals of relevant regulatory bodies, and high ratings by various accreditation agencies, the educational institutions earned their academic reputation through top ranks and placements and, thus, became not only a local favourite of namma Bangaloreans but also the preferred destination for affordable quality education for pan-Indian and international students.[3]

Under the global outlook and visionary planning of the Chairman, Dr Somasekhar, and the missionary zeal of implementation of the Secretary, Mrs Bharathi T, Indian Academy Education Trust has equipped the educational institutions with adequate infrastructure and ample resources to create world class learning environment right in India.   • Indian Academy Degree College - Autonomous (IADCA), the flagship higher educational institution of the group, is a permanently affiliated college of Bangalore University [5] with 2(f) and 12(B) status accorded by University Grants Commission of India.[6] The College has been re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) at Grade 'A' with a CGPA of 3.27 in Cycle-2.[7] IADC-A was accorded autonomous status with effect from the academic year 2016-17.[8]
