Inés Silva (Born 1970 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a United States-based artist.

Biography

Ines Silva developed an inclination for the arts, since her student days at the architect faculty at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). After graduating with honors, she decided to focus on art choosing to concentrate her plastic work within the currents of geometric abstraction and constructivism.

Ines constant investigation of this movement has given her the ability to permanently explore new creative possibilities, both in the formal and technical aspects and in the material. Ines has distinguished herself for some years, for the use of plastic material (Plexiglas) as supports of her work. Ines paints on this material planes, stripes or lines in vivid and translucent colors resulting in an unlimited number of views that allows it to be fully appreciated from any position.

Her trajectory continues to succeed landing her participation in international exhibitions in Europe. She participates in salon Comparaison[1] (2006/2017) and Salon des Réalités Nouvelless [2] (2014-2017)

Her work has been exhibited in major museums and institutions among which are: Madi and Geometric Art Museum,[5] Dallas Museum of Modern art in Moscow, Russia; Maison de la Amerique Latine, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Madi movement, Paris; Museum of Contemporary Art Francisco Narvaez, Venezuela; and the Galerie Emilia Suciu Karlsruhe, Germany.
