The Imbaba Bridge in Cairo

The Imbaba Bridge is a major railway bridge located in Cairo, Egypt across the Nile River. It is located about 935 kilometers downstream from Aswan Dam.[1] Imbaba Bridge is currently the only railway bridge across the Nile in Cairo.[2] The current version of the bridge was built between 1912 and 1924 by the Belgian firm Baume-Marpent.[3] The first iteration of the bridge was constructed in 1891 and was designed to allow railways to cross the Nile River west towards the Giza Train Station.[2][4]
