Professional career

WNBA

McGee-Stafford was drafted 10th overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2016 WNBA Draft. In her rookie season, she was ranked 7th in the league in blocks per game and was named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team by the end of the season. The Sky finished 18-16 with the number 4 seed in the league. McGee-Stafford would become the starting center for the Sky halfway through season and hold the position during the playoffs. They received a bye to the second round elimination game, where they defeated the Atlanta Dream, advancing themselves to the semi-finals. During her first playoff game, McGee-Stafford broke the WNBA playoff rookie record for blocks in a game with 6. In the semi-finals, the Sky were defeated by the Los Angeles Sparks 3-1 in the series. McGee-Stafford was ranked 3rd in blocks per game and 8th in rebounds per game during the playoffs.

Midway through the 2017 season, McGee-Stafford was traded to the Atlanta Dream along with teammate Tamera Young in exchange for Jordan Hooper and a first-round draft pick.[2] The Dream finished with a 12-22 record, missing out on playoff contention.

Overseas

McGee-Stafford signed with Bnot Herziliya of the Israeli Female Basketball Premier League for the 2016-17 off-season. As of October 12, 2017, McGee-Stafford signed with Beijing Great Wall of the Women's Chinese Basketball Association for the 2017-18 off-season and won a championship with the team.[3]

Personal life

McGee-Stafford was married to Texas Longhorns football player Paul Boyette Jr. She is the daughter of former WNBA player Pamela McGee, the younger sister of current NBA player JaVale McGee, and a cousin of NFL player Jarron Gilbert. She also appeared on Let's Make a Deal with her Grandma on March 8, 2018 and received a pair of scooters.
