Ikaika Kahoano (born May 15, 1978) is an American singer.
Career
Kahoano is a member of the boy band LMNT. He appeared on the 2000 ABC TV series Making the Band as a member of O-Town.[1]
Initially, Kahoano was chosen to be part of the five of the band. Shortly after being selected, he left for personal reasons. To the other guys of the group, it seemed like he was conditioned by his father's and his brother's decisions, but later it came out that Kahoano had been taken by Lou Pearlman to be "the chosen one": he offered him to live in his house and he said: "i'll be like a father for you, and this will be our secret. You'll be my guy". Kahoano started to feel always more uncomfortable with Pearlman, and he dropped the band.[2]
Later, he joined Mike Miller, Bryan Chan (the other finalists from Making the Band) and Matthew Morrison (then replaced by Jonas Persch) in the boy band LMNT. Their single "Juliet", released on November 2001, was a big success on Radio Disney, where it stayed at number one for eight weeks, but their debut album, "All Sides", released on summer 2002, failed to chart. The group disbanded in 2003.
Now Kahoano runs a model fit center in Hawaii
Personal Life
Kahoano comes from a family of ethnically and culturally Hawai'ian musicians. His parents, Lynette and Kimo, are both singers.
