Iftikhar Ahmad Cheema (Urdu: افتخار احمد چیمہ; born 1 January 1939) is a Pakistani politician who had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, from 2008 to January 2016 and again from April 2016 to May 2018.
He is a retired Justice.[2]
Early life
He was born on 1 January 1939.[3]
Political career
He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) from Constituency NA-101 (Gujranwala-VII) in Pakistani general election, 2008.[4][5] He received 71,792 votes and defeated Hamid Nasir Chattha.[6]
He was re-elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of PML-N from Constituency NA-101 (Gujranwala-VII) in Pakistani general election, 2013.[7][8][9] He received 99,924 votes and defeated Muhammad Ahmad Chatha, a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (J).[10] In January 2016, he was de-seated from the National Assembly[11] and re-election in the constituency was ordered.[12] He won the by-elections held in March 2016 and retained the seat. He received 82,420 votes and defeated Muhammad Ahmad Chatha, a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.[13]
