Ieva Ilves (née Kupče; born 13 September 1977) is a Latvian civil servant. She was engaged to the Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves in November 2015[1] and married him on 2 January 2016.[2] From that point on until the end of President Ilves' term she was the First Lady of Estonia.[3] Ieva Ilves gave birth to the couple's son, Hans Hendrik, on 28 November 2016. [4]
Ieva Ilves earned a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University.[5] She continues to work for the Latvian Ministry of Defence, where she is head of the National Cybersecurity Policy Coordination Section.[6]
