Ian Miller (born September 28, 1991) is an American professional basketball player for Hapoel Gilboa Galil of the Israeli Premier League. He played college basketball for Florida State University.
Early life and college career
Miller attended United Faith Christian Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina. He played college basketball for Florida State University's Seminoles.
In his senior year at Florida State, Miller averaged 13.7 points and 2.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
On March 10, 2014, Miller was named ACC Sixth Man of the Year and All-ACC Honorable Mention.[1]
Professional career
Italy (2014–16)
After going undrafted in the 2014 NBA draft, Miller joined the Detroit Pistons for the 2015 NBA Summer League, where he averaged 9.7 points and 3 assists per game.[2]
On August 6, 2014, Miller started his professional career with the Italian team Aurora Jesi of the Serie A2, signing a one-year deal.[3] On October 5, 2014, he made his professional debut in a 74–82 loss to Brescia, recording a career-high 43 points, shooting 10-of-15 from three point range.[4]
On January 29, 2015, Miller parted ways with Jesi and signed with PMS Torino for the rest of the season.[5] Miller helped Torino to promote to the Serie A after winning the 2015 Serie A2 Championship.
On July 9, 2015, Miller signed a one-year contract extension with Torino.[6] However, on March 17, 2016, Miller parted ways with Torino and joined Tenezis Verona for the rest of the season.[7]
Kazakhstan (2016–17)
On August 3, 2016, Miller signed with the Kazakh team Astana for the 2016–17 season.[8] On October 2, 2016, Miller recorded a season-high 32 points, along with 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals in a 83–78 win over Avtodor Saratov.[9] Miller helped Astana to win the 2017 Kazakhstan League Championship and the 2017 Kazakhstan Cup, as well as reaching the 2017 VTB United League Quarterfinals, where they eventually lost to CSKA Moscow.
In 27 VTB League games played during the 2016–17 season, Miller averaged 14.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
Turkey and France (2017–18)
On June 17, 2017, Miller signed with the Turkish team Uşak Sportif.[10] However, on March 27, 2018, Miller parted ways with Uşak and joined the French team BCM Gravelines for the rest of the season.[11]
Israel (2018–present)
On July 13, 2018, Miller signed with Hapoel Gilboa Galil for the 2018–19 season.[12][13]
