Hypechiniscus is a genus of tardigrades in the family Echiniscidae.[1] Together with Bryodelphax, it is the fourth oldest in the family Echiniscidae, it was named and described by Gustav Thulin along with Bryodelphax' in 1928 and its etymology is Greek meaning hyper echiniscus.

According to Degma, Bertolani et Guidetti (2014),[1] this genus includes the following species:

  • Hypechiniscus exarmatus (Murray, 1907)
  • Hypechiniscus fengi Sun & Li, 2013
  • Hypechiniscus gladiator (Murray, 1905)
  • Hypechiniscus papillifer Robotti, 1972
