Shahzada Husain Burhanuddin is the third son of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin the current incumbent of the office of the 53rd Dawoodi Bohra Da'i al-Mutlaq,[1] and the grandson of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin. He is a recitor and Hafiz (Quran).

Personal life and education

Husain Burhanuddin was born on 24 December 1977. He graduated from Al Jamea tus Saifiyah with the degree of al-Faqih al-Jayyid in 1419H where he also completed his degree as a Hafiz (Quran)[2] in 1416 Hijri.[3] He is an honorary member of the Naqaabat Quraa’ al-Quran (Guild of Quran Reciters) in Cairo.[2]

He has recorded the complete Qur'anic text in the murattal (tarteel) style of recitation[4][5][6] certified by Al-Azhar University, Cairo.[2] He is also known for his recitiation in mujawwad (tajwid), mohaffiz[7] & mo'allim styles of recitation.[4] He is also recites in the various recitations styles and Qira'at of the Quran.[8]

Profession

He currently heads the department of Mahad al-Zahra, Al Jamea tus Saifiyah which specializes in memorization, recitation and studies of the Quran.[2] He also heads the departments[9] of Saut ul Iman,[10] Janah al Tarannum & Al Jamea tus Saifiyah Publications.[11] He and his wife Naqiyah run the Raudat al Atfaal[12] programs which specializes in memorization, recitation and studies of the Quran for children.

In 2016, he was assigned the Dawat-E-Hadiyah[13] department of al-Mazaraat al-Muqaddasah[14] by his father Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin.

Recognition & Awards

  •  India: On 15 May 2015 (27 Rajab 1436 Hijri) - he was given the cognomen "Burhanuddin" (Arabic: برهان الدين) by Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin.[15]
  •  India: He was conferred two of the highest degrees of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah; "Thiqah al-Da'wah al-Taiybiyyah" (Arabic: ثقة الدعوة الطيبية; translation: The trusted of the Taiyebi Da'wah) and the degree of "al-'Aleem al-Baare' " (Arabic: العليم البارع; Translation: The Outstandingly Learned) on 3 May 2016 (27 Rajab 1437 Hijri).[16]
