Huang Yiliang (Chinese: 黄奕良; pinyin: Huáng Yìliáng) (born 1961) is a veteran Singaporean former artiste. He was prominently a full-time Mediacorp artiste from 1980 to 2006.

Personal life

He married fellow actress Lin Meijiao in 1991 and have a daughter Chantalle Ng in 1995. They divorced in 1997. Their daughter was left with Lin. One of his Star Awards was dedicated to his ex-wife, where he had performed an awesome rant about the divorce. [1]

Huang then remarried and has a son with his second wife.

Career

Huang started off as a small screen actor with MediaCorp. He won the Best Supporting Actor Star Awards three times and Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes during his 20-year career there.

He felt that it was time to move on to a different challenge after having acted for the past 20 years and started his own movie producing company Red Group Film and became a movie producer, a film-director and a movie actor.

Huang's first production, Autumn In March (S$1 million budget), was originally scheduled for big screen but was later downgraded to just DVD-release after failing to get the support of the local movie distributors. However, it did receive overwhelming support from aspiring actresses as more than 300 girls came over for the leading actress audition in Singapore. Huang left the entertainment industry in 2006. Fined $3000

He assaulted a woman in Toa Payoh because she failed to clean up after her dog. Huang was upset at the woman’s actions, and an argument ensued.
