Houssem Aouar (born 30 June 1998) is a French footballer who plays for Lyon as a midfielder.[1]

Club career

Aouar started playing football at the AS Tonkin in Villeurbanne in 2006

Olympique Lyonnais

He joined the Olympique Lyonnais Reserves and Academy in 2009 at the age of 11.

In 2014, at the age of 16, he won the French U17 Championship and was called to the French U17 team.

He made his first team debut in on 16 February 2017 in a 1–4 away win against AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League. He entered the field after 84 minutes for Sergi Darder.[2] Aouar scored his first professional goal a week later in the return leg in a 7–1 victory.[3] He made his Ligue 1 debut against Bastia on 16 April 2017, but the match was interrupted and given as a win to Lyon three weeks later.[4] He played the last half-hour of a 2–1 loss against Monaco.
