Hossein Fallah Noshirvani

Hossein Falah Noshirvani (Persian: حسین فلاح نوشیروانی) was a renowned Iranian humanitarian and influential social figure.[1]

Noshirvani was born in 1902 in Babol, Mazandaran. After finishing basic traditional education, he moved to Mashahd where he started working in a company founded by Mr. Hakimzadeh Yazdi.[2] In a short time, he moved to Tehran and joined Hakimizadeh and was promoted to the post of internal manager of the company. Noshirvani then started his own business in the steel and cotton industries.

Noshirvani spent his wealth for the benefit of the public. He constructed bridges, hospitals, schools and a university in Babol,Iran. He also funded many students and invested a part of his wealth for the health care in Iranian villages.[3]

Babol Noshirvani University of Technology is named after him. He died in 1972. He is survived by his sons Vahid and Hamid and his daughter Homa, as well as 4 grandchildren.
