Hormizd II Kushanshah

Hormizd II Kushanshah (295-300 CE), also Ohrmazd II Kushanshah, was a Kushano-Sasanids Kushanshas ruler, in effect a goveror of the Sassanid Empire for the eastern regions of Sogdiana, Bactria and Gandhara which had been captured following the fall of the Kushans in 225 CE. It is thought that he succeeded Hormizd I Kushanshah. He is mainly known though his coins, which are different from those of Hormizd I Kushanshah, in that he wears a specific eagle crown, similar to that of the Sasanian king Hormizd II.[1][2][3]
